Dr. Isaak

Dr. Isaak Yelizar knows firsthand the positive impact a straightened smile can have on someone’s confidence. After immigrating to the US at a young age, all Dr. Yelizar wanted to do was hide his smile! He’s glad he didn’t have to feel awkward and self-conscious for long. As his orthodontics gradually corrected his teeth, he became more and more comfortable with letting his personality – and his smile! – shine. Today, Dr. Yelizar is proud to be a board-certified orthodontist who can help transform the lives of his patients, just as his orthodontist transformed his.

Orthodontists have to undergo a bit more training than general dentists, and a board-certified orthodontist has to do even more than that! Dr. Yelizar started his journey with a “bang!” by graduating with honors from the New York University College of Dentistry. His next steps involved a general practice residency at the New York Methodist Hospital and an orthodontic residency at St. Barnabas Hospital. While this satisfies the requirements for a qualified orthodontist, Dr. Yelizar went on to complete rigorous written and oral examinations and presented examples of his own work to the American Board of Orthodontics. Finally, Dr. Yelizar became a board-certified professional, and diligently renews his certification every ten years.

With years of quality orthodontic service under his belt, Dr. Yelizar can confidently say that his treatment philosophy is “less is more.” He believes that a minimalistic approach is the best way to straighten his patients’ smiles and improve their oral health. As such, he only recommends extraction or surgery when absolutely necessary. You can count on Dr. Yelizar to consider every treatment possibility before drastically altering your dental structure!

Forever grateful for Dr. Yelizar and his incredible team. My smile looks beautiful thanks to his attention to detail and perfectionism. Traditional braces were painless and each visit was a breeze. Karen, Jess and Myra the admin team are the sweetest and compliment Dr. Yelizar’ so well. Thankful.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Find the Best Place to Get Orthodontic Work Done?

There are a few different factors to consider when searching for an orthodontist near Corona. For example, you will likely want a practice that will take your insurance. You might also prefer an orthodontist who maintains certain office hours or offers specific types of treatment. Make a list of everything you’re looking for in a new orthodontist; that way, you can specifically search for a practice that meets these criteria.

Upon finding a practice that looks like it may be a good fit, it’s worth taking the time to explore their website. Oftentimes, there will be a biographical page that describes the orthodontist’s qualifications as well as their philosophy regarding the care that they provide. Additionally, you should check to see if the practice has received any reviews on Google, Facebook, or Yelp. This will give you a chance to learn about the experiences that other patients have had with the orthodontist in question.

What Level of Education is Required to Be an Orthodontist?

Becoming an orthodontist requires many years of study. First, one must obtain a bachelor’s degree. The next step after that is to enroll in an accredited dental school. After about four years of dental school, a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) can be obtained. Then, anyone wishing to become an orthodontist must complete an orthodontic residency program, which normally takes two to three years.

Like general dentists, orthodontists are required to complete a certain number of continuing education hours in order to stay licensed. The exact number of hours required depends on the standards set by the state in which the orthodontist practices.

How Much Do Braces Cost?

The cost of braces can vary significantly from patient to patient. Factors that can influence the amount you pay for your treatment include the type of braces used, how complex your specific case is, and the location of your orthodontist’s practice. On top of that, dental insurance needs to be taken into account. Plenty of insurance companies offer some level of coverage for orthodontic treatments, but the specifics depend on what policy you have. We can discuss the cost of your care in more detail at your initial consultation.

How Can You Make Orthodontic Treatment More Affordable?

Straightening your teeth doesn’t just enhance your appearance; it can also improve your overall health. Thus, it’s worth finding ways to make orthodontic treatment more affordable. Naturally, our team is more than happy to help make the financial aspect of your care more manageable. We accept a wide variety of popular dental insurance plans, and we can file the required claims for you. On top of that, we offer an “Interest-Free In House” financing option as well as third-party financing through Lending Point. Don’t be afraid to ask our team about the financial options offered at our practice.
