Get to Know Our Dedicated Orthodontist
Dr. Isaak Yelizar
Moving to the United States as a child, Dr. Isaak felt self-conscious about his oral health and appearance. His ability to access quality dental care was impossible in his former country; however, once he met with a caring and compassionate orthodontist at 13 years old, he began to witness the positive changes occurring inside his mouth.
More confident than ever before, his psychological and physical appearance began to improve, so he also changed his social behaviors.
By the time he reached the end of high school, he was so impressed by what orthodontic treatment had done for him that he knew he wanted to make it his future career.
After graduating from the New York University College of Dentistry with high honors, he served as a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He completed a general practice residency at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, - a place where he fell in love with orthodontics. He eventually pursued an orthodontic residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx.
As a board-certified orthodontist, he completed many different advanced written and oral examinations and his cases before a panel of experts from the American Board of Orthodontics.
Hear from Patients
Simpli the best! Feeling blessed to have met Dr Yelizar. I got braces 3 times (span of 25 years), Dr Yelizar is my 4th ortho and he finally fixed my issue. He is a problem solver, perfectionist, and extremely passionate about his work. Followed Dr Yelizar on Instagram for 2 years and thought he was in Connecticut. After 2 years, I checked again hoping he relocated to New York City. To my surprise, he was always in Forest Hills. So I am very glad he is now my orthodontist. I highly recommend Dr Yelizar!
We’re proud to help patients from Elmhurst and all across Queens find an orthodontist they can trust.

Frequently Asked Questions, Answered!
Looking for an orthodontist near Elmhurst? We know you may have questions before scheduling a visit. Below are answers to a few common questions. If you don’t see what you need, please let us know!
How Do I Get Emergency Orthodontic Care?
If you ever experience an orthodontic emergency, call us right away. Whether you have a broken wire or a loose bracket, we’ll do everything we can to get your treatment back on track. Over the phone, a team member can also provide tips to manage discomfort until we see you.
Most emergency rooms aren’t equipped for dental emergencies, so you should only go to the hospital for a life-threatening situation.
How Do I Find the Best Place to Get Orthodontic Work Done?
Start by identifying what matters most to you. For example:
- Do I want a provider that’s in-network with my insurance?
- Do I want a location that’s easy to get to from Elmhurst or my workplace?
- Do I want comprehensive orthodontic options in one office?
After that, compare experience, patient reviews, and the types of treatments offered. If you’d like to learn more about our team and approach, explore our site or reach out with questions.
What If I’m Worried I Can’t Afford Orthodontic Treatment?
Many dental plans include orthodontic benefits, and we’ll help you review your coverage. We also offer payment options so you can choose a plan that fits your budget. We’ll always explain costs clearly before you begin treatment.
What Level of Education Is Required to Be an Orthodontist?
Orthodontists first complete dental school (DDS or DMD), then complete additional years of specialty training in orthodontics. Orthodontists also complete continuing education to maintain licensure and stay current with treatment techniques.
